Iran Chamber customs commission visits Aprin dry port
The head and members of the Iran Chamber of Commerce customs commission, together with customs, railway and anti-smuggling officials, toured Aprin dry port south-west of Tehran to review its capacity and the bottlenecks holding back customs and transit work there.

On 5 November 2026 the customs commission of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture visited Aprin dry port. The stated aim was to look at the facility's existing capacity, identify its problems, and set out what is needed to grow customs and transit activity there.
Who took part
- Mohammadreza Farooghi, head of the Iran Chamber customs commission
- Mr Alidadi, legal deputy of Iran's central headquarters against goods and currency smuggling
- Mr Khenari, director general of the transit office of Iran Customs (IRICA)
- Mr Ghahremani, director general of West Tehran customs
- Railway managers, commission members, and board members of Iran's national union of customs brokers
Published photos show the delegation walking the container yard, the warehouse block and the dry port's control and CCTV room, then reviewing the site layout and development plan in a meeting.
What Aprin does
Aprin, signed as the Tehran rail dry port customs, receives containers railed up from Iran's southern ports on the Persian Gulf so that they can be cleared close to the Tehran market instead of at the busy seaports. It operates under West Tehran customs.
Why it matters for cargo owners
Having the customs transit office, the railway and customs brokers at the same table points to rail and dry ports being on the agenda for imports, exports and transit alike. Any improvement in Aprin's procedures can cut the time and cost of moving containers from Shahid Rajaee port to Tehran and on to the next destination.
